I like the fact that it's a coupe...

I don't like how it looks in general (sorry if it is 'one of yours' Italo)...

Can't quite put my finger on it but it is a bit too modern-retro, if that's even a genre? Maybe a touch too much Plymouth Prowler at the front? Which I never liked, but I understand why others did!

I think a coupe '7' would be good though... Some of us like our hard tops! I will take a close look at the Aeon Epona when it comes out!

€149,000eek
Might not be but looks heavy. What about the front light pods?

Hate the website, I feel it is a good example of style getting in the way of the message.

overall I like it. There are lots of niggling annoyances in the design though that overall would mean a resounding "no" from this corner. The lights for starters.

It was at the motorshow. Seemed a little too high tech inside, with the door catches and targa roof worked off the touch screen, IIRC. The LHD touch meant there was space to get your left foot off the clutch, which was good, and there was a fair size boot, and storage along the sides too.

The whole design lacks elegance and coherence. Unless you call being ugly from every angle coherence. I think the Aeon Epona project is superb and when its available it will be at kit car prices. 125,000 euro for this, not on your nelly.

I completely understand the distaste expressed here, the whole futuretro description spot on. However, I have a feeling I might quite like the overall stance. Really like the way it sits in some photos. Many detals absurd, if I ever had one I'd have to comprehensively play with it. The eggbox grill, for instance. Don't know how, in this this era of design can still consider for a moment that eggbox has anything to bring to the party. And the headlamps, yes; I admire the audacity of using such delicate spars, but the cluster itself lacks poetry.

Let me restate, though, I enjoy the way it sits and the treatment of the roof structure. And of course someone working on new design in open wheel territory earns my applause; I'm working on something myself, casually; some details at www.ramsaydesign.co.uk/protest.html if you're interested.

These people have some innovative ideas you might care to try their brake pads.

Interesting organic design ethos with a clever interaction of plane surfaces.

Hi Alan, do you have more pictures of your concept, other than the one on your website ?

Cheers

I thought that the Aspid was a fantastic car, from an engineering stand point.

The detailing in the construction, the suspension arrangement, the double front discs, the quality of some of the fabrications and castings etc.

I spent ages at the London motorshow just looking at the thing and noticing little details that surprised me.

I thought that things like the side locker and the LCD in the steering wheel were very well done and thought out.

However

IIRC they were asking about £140,000 for the thing and that was before the £ dived against the Euro!

As an engineering exercise it was 11/10 as a commercial proposition IMHO is was unnecessarily complicated and way too expensive and while the LCD and touch screens were fine in theory I would question its long term reliability.

If I won the lottery I guess there would be one on my shopping list but I would probably just park in in my lounge and spend days on end noticing new clever bits!
