So my kids are required to travel in the back seat with a booster seat. My 360 spider does not have a back seat. Has anybody been challanged by the police for carrying a child in the front seat of a 2 seater with a booster, or does the law allow for this. Any opinions? While I dont make a habit of it, if its a bonnie day and a bairn needs collected from a party etc.

Its a danger, if you have a crash you don't want to break it to your OH that you've killed your beloved offspring. I was involved in a crash when I was 18 months old, the guy pulled out in front of us. Dad said the most relieving sound to hear straight afterwards was me shouting and screaming to know I was still alive.

As far as I was aware, its perfectly legal to have an appropriately restrained child in the front seat. As for crashing, I dont see why its any different than any other car; presumably you wont be thrashing it around when sprog is in tow anyway.

front seat sounds a lot safer than towing a sprog

Indeed, there is no such requirement for children to be in the rear seats if it is a front+rear car either; they may travel in any seat so long as they are in the appropriate restraint. thumbup

I remember 2 members of the establishment being rather impressed one Saturday morning that my 6 month old son was out with me in my Gallardo.

Providing you have a child seat or booster there should be no problem - just drive more carefully !!

Just one word of warning

One Sunday morning my 3 year old was in the car with me. This dog ran out into the road. I hit the Lambo brakes really hard and my daughters breakfast went flying across the windscreen.

It is really difficult to get vomit out that narrow bit at the front of the Gallardo screen

Just thank goodness that she'd finished eating it, scrambled eggs and beans would have made even a worse mess, not to mention the scratches from the cutlery yes

My 550 WSR has a child seat in the passenger seat at all times. The 4 point harness has been modified to restrain my daughters child seat and plug her in. It works well.

Can't get one for the GT3RS though.

Still got to say your young lad did a fantastic job of driving the 348 the other day. When I pulled across to your right hand side on the straight, he almost looked as though he was asleep!

Legal or not, I am really grappling with this issue. My 2 year old son adores my cares, but I am really reluctant to take him out in any supercars as I am not yet convinced that they are safe enough…It is a really difficult decision for me…
