Recommend a good restaurant in or around Norwich
Discussion
Have a friend coming down from Newcastle today and he wants to go out for a decent meal with his wife tonight.
He used to live in Norwich quite a while ago and said he liked the Ratcatchers but I am unsure how well the place is doing now...?
Anyone got anymore recommendations. He is staying in Wymondham but they have a car and do not mind a bit of diving to get there but I would say in Norwich would be best.
Any help?

Paul,
Well he mentioned the Ratcatchers which is or was high quality pub based food so I would think the same or slightly higher than that. I am racking my brains for one of those Gastropubs. I thought of the Boars(?) at Spooner Row as they have a good reputation.
I would work on a £50 per head basis.

Possibly just a bit too much of a hike but dining pubs don't come much better than The Saracen's Head at Wolterton (NW of Aylsham).
Stuck literally in the middle of nowhere; a real gem of a place. Lovely ambience, charming hosts and superb food. Style best described as bistro meets v.relaxed country house. Sample menus on the website. Ring to check availability as it tends to be pretty busy, particularly at this time of year.

The Fur and Feather at Woodbastwick is really nice. http://www.thefurandfeatherinn.co.uk/fur_index.php
For a great Thai, the Andamin Orchid at Coltishall.
