Since the 328 GTS went last autumn, I've been looking for a TdF/tan 355 GTS. I saw the good, the bad and the ugly - mainly the bad and overpriced private sales, however. Until now.
Thanks to Mike Wheeler at Rardley, who sourced the car and made the whole experience a pleasure, I drove it back to Somerset yesterday and it now sits in my barn.
The point of the post is, however, is it normal behavour to sit in a car in a locked garage alone for long periods of time (not running, I hasten to add)? If not, when does this calming and spiritual experience cease or at least reduce to normal levels?
I'll post some pics soon for all you spotters.

I think its quite normal to admire things that you have strived to purchase and behold. Mike's a great guy, I am glad that you have got what you are looking for - its worth walking away from a few to get a good one! bounce

Had my yellow 355 Spider 8 months now... I still sit in the garage with it and stare. Even better still if its parked outside. I dont think it ever ends with such a beautiful car. Good choice. I nealry bought a TDF Blue with Tan hide 355. Gorgeous car.

you do know theres a minimum of 2 hours self gratification and staring required under law dont you? you will need to move a comfortable sofa into the barn and a small chiller cabinet and hire butler to bring you food, that way you can sustain longer periods of open and slack jawed appreciation of aforementioned automobile.

please refer to harsh for instructions on grinning like jack nicholson whilst driving.

He's not grinning. Its from the wind blowing his cheeks back in the Atom. They've set that way permanently.. :P

Yip this is normal.

Every time I go into my garage (any excuse) I have to stop and look at the CS for a while.

Absolutely yes that is normal. In my opinion, any decent Italian Exotic car should evoke such a sensation. From personal experience, a Porsche / BMW M car will not

Thank you for your supportive replies - I'll pass them to she who must be obeyed. Thus proving I'm either not a nutter or there are many others like me so I must be alright. However she's put up with the previous machines so I guess I'm in the clear, and it's cheaper than having an affair.
Runway78 is right, German stuff doesn't seem to give the same reaction, although this thread is probably a little biased.

Ha ha! That was one of the many reasons I told the wife it would be a good idea to let me have mine. It worked.

Agreed. I like my M3 very much, but it is certainly now the unloved child in the garage next to the 355...
