Quite a simple one (I hope, particularly if it doesn't involve "remove speedo and send to SpeedyCables")).

Analogue mileage counter on my '98 can't quite muster the enthusiasm to roll over to 60,000 miles. Speedo is working fine.

From my Chimaera days I recall reading threads about similar things; does tapping it with your knuckles when driving, or driving forward/reverse/forward/reverse work on the Cerb, or any other better ideas ??

cheers

Mike

I've had this a few times and it seems pretty common. I've actually fixed this myself by removing the speedo and gently prising the bezel off so that I could take it apart. You can then wind it over by hand. A bit of nylon lubricant seems to have made it a less frequent chore, but I generally find I need to to it at 10k intervals.

easy fix this one. As your driving just tap it. It will move no problem

wavey I've had this a couple of times too (40,000 and 50,000 smile) and yep, a tap whilst in motion should do it tongue out.

Mine does that too. A good tap will sort it.

thanks to all; I think I'll try the 'tap it' option first.

thanks for the responses.

So really then, nobody should consider buying any of the above cars as theyve done thousands of miles more than they appear??

yep, that'll be right; after all we know that ALL TVR's do this smile

Better still, 'phone your local *** dealer when the bike rack is scratching your speed-sensitive spoiler on the Corrado, and he'll tell you how to disconnect the speedo / mile counter over the phone !!

Its common. Mine did this at 29999 and 39999. Took about hundred miles on each occasion to correct itself.

I must have a better one then cos mine has managed to get over the 9999's and got to 40000, then stopped! Edit to oneself 'must tap speedo when next travelling in cerb'.
