Car meet info - Notts/Mansfiled area

Hi,

I've not long gotten into the motorsport scene (as a photographer) and was looking for some race/carpark meets for clubs (any car/any size) for more proctice. I've been to a couple of trackdays, F1 testing and Grand Prix, but other than that...

So I was hoping you good folk could post some local meets (interested in anything - any size/any event/anywhere) in the hope I may be able to attend some.

Hi Scott!

We have a number of Midlands meets on a Tuesday evening, see StarkAmberThorpe thread for info.

Sometimes we have little run outs.

Also 5th August is the White Hart Classic Car Meet

Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday in the month during summer, The Griffins Head at Papplewick, classic and sports cars meet, usually 100+ cars if it's sunny.
Every 1st Tuesday of the month, Ashfields Aircooled VW group meet at The Ashfields Pub on the A38 in Sutton-In-Ashfield.

Particularly interested in your post raceboy, as they are both pretty much on my doorstep (Papplewick - 10mins, Ashfields - 2mins).
What time do you start meeting up for these? Are we talking all sorts at griffins?
I can see myself being v.busy on the 5th and 6th.

Not actually been to an Ashfields meet, just know about the meet via some mates that are more into the VW scene than me....

Just checked out the pistonhead's post you gave me then went on to the facebook pics - nice variety of cars on show. Definitely have to check it out

Didn't realise it was near Matlock. Hmm, may have to go to this one - not had me quota of Chish and Fips from Matlock this year

Cleaning the car out I found a flyer for a Classic Car & Bike meeting at Forest Town.
Never been so no idea what it's like but it's the 3rd Thursday of the month until September at the Forest Town Welfare, Mansfield, no idea where that is but it says the entrance is via a side gate on Pump Hollow Road.
