Anyone know a decent tyre fitter in Suffolk?
Discussion
Took a puncture to my local tyre fitters recently and despite their assurances that they'd be careful and they'd done loads of Porsches in the past, they scraped the paint, used an airgun on the light alloy wheel nuts (taking the edges off) then failed to get the tyre to sit back on the rim properly (which I didn't spot at the time).
Whilst doing a track day at Hethel the tyre developed a massive bulge in the sidewall and almost popped off the rim. Felt like a wheel had come loose! I then got a track day tyre supplier to fit a set, which he did fine - though he did say they were the hardest wheels he'd ever had to work on. They are 17" Cup alloys, fitted to my 968 CS.
I now have a set of Pilot Sport Cup's that I need to get fitted, but don't want the tyres or the rims damaged, so need to find a fitter sympathetic to these wheels. Anyone know of any mobile or local tyre fitters around Diss/Stowmarket/Ipswich? All help appreciated.

It may be a bit far for you, but my own get looked after by Hardwick Tyres of St andrews Street, Bury St Eds, you will have to dig them out of the book though.
The owner runs a nice 964 and the last time i was being sold new shoes there were four original Hallibrand (sp) from a GT40 stacked up, evidently the car is owned and run locally (and is original) and they source and fit the appropriate rubber, so they ought to be up to the job.
good luck and remeber the Haughley bends are not for speeding in

Based in good ol BSE which like yourself does put you a slight disadvantage when persuing Porschist activities. Although a member of the PCGB I have never been to one of their meets, i gather they use the Angel at Larling on the A11 about 10 miles North of Thetford. Are you punting the CS round Snetterton soon? i think there is a track day in the near future which I was going to look into
For your records, when re-booting the C2S the good people at Hardwick put a new set of Bridestones on for £700 plus vat which after some research was pretty good? did not scratch the rims either
