On the equivalent parts thread, there is a Land Rover pump listed by Buffoon, which he was going to fit to his speed 6.

Does the AJP8 use the same pump?

Also, I have called around to compare prices, and the ones on Ebay are hugely chaeper. Which is good, but at what cost? They aren't genuine LR parts on ebay, but are new.
Are pattern parts of this nature (mechanical) more likely to have less longevity than the genuine LR parts?

What would other Cerb owners here do? Get the cheaper item (about 100 quid less) or fork out for the LR part?

Thanks

Buffoon

Not got the new one out of the box yet, but it is certainly new not recon. Don't know when I will get to fit it.

The company that supplied (Island 4x4) were excelent. Can't imagine the part to be inferior if fitted to Landrovers but time will tell. At the end of the day, I've never had a pump go before, yet the original part on the TVR I believe has packed up at 50000 miles.

For me, it was the best option. £64 incl Vat and delivery. Was not worth taking car in to be pressure checked (Speed six quite easy to access). I believe they manage to supply cheaply owing to bulk order, as they had 70 odd in stock.

Let's hope I do not live to regret, but will be interested in the view of others, as I won't be fitting for some time yet.

With regards to suitability, the places that stock pumps only show one type for all cars. Belive same unit on most TVRs. Please don't take my word for it though.

I have recently fitted a Land rover pump and the casing fouled the pulley wheel, if you would like to give me a call to discuss before you change it e-mail me your number.

How did you get round this problem?? Just buff the casing down a bit?
