A guy came at me effing and blinding, shoving me around because I put my hand into his open window to point something out to the small son of a colleague I had taken along with me to show all the interesting cars.

He is lucky he still has his teeth, but it just isn't the done thing to be scrapping in front of small kids, and if I went on my own and saw the car again I just know I'd be looking for its owner punch

I enjoyed it before that but I don't honestly trust myself not to have a pop so best to steer clear.
It does go to show though that just because someone else has your passion he isn't necessarily automatically a friendly face frown

Thanks very much Frazer - you're a gent sir!

It was an old american car - and very nice too. I was pointing out the glass pistol which was used to redirect either the wing mirror or spotlight - can't remember which - to the young lad I'd taken with me.
I admit I put my hand through the open NSF window to do this but hey, I'd left the Griffith with the roof off, windows down and alarm off because I know people go poking hands and heads into cars when they're parked at these events.

It took some serious willpower not to punch the idiot I can tell you, although he was left in no doubt that one more push and he was in trouble. Oddly enough, he shut up when I said that. Poncewink

His only mitigation in my mind is it was either him showing off in front of his mates or what he was drinking from the bottle in his hand had the better of him. And neither of them are more than half an excuse.

I was starting to be worried about how many people were at the event and wondering if it was getting too big before this happened. I've missed it a bit, but its their loss IMHO.

My comment was just a word of warning to the OP that not everyone at these events are automatically a friend just because you have one thing in common, so be a bit cautious.

I went for the first time last month and thought it was great; I'll certainly be going again.

Sorry to hear about that incident, sounds like a prime knobjockey. Everyone was really friendly when I went although I didn't meet up with any other phers.

Several folk from the Midlands and Northants regions go every month and arrange a time to meet by the Cricket Pavillion.

Looks like we could have quite a Ruby Mica Chimaera line up!

IIRC Ian's inceident was a couple of years ago now? It certainly shouldn't have happened and was entirely unacceptable. Worse wehen kids are involved.

However, it is the only one of its type I've heard of in the last 3-4 years, so don't let it put you off.

We'll be going and it'll be nice to see another Leics Tiv there. Depending on time, you are welcome to join us for a mini convoy from Birstall (most likely a Tiv, vette and Alpine).

Probably about 6. Usually fine to get on the pitch until about 6.30pm (maybe slightly earlier as last month was probably quiet...)
