F40 out and about today, north Hertfordshire

Normally I wouldn't get so 'star struck' with a car but I've never seen an F40 on the road, let alone around sunny Hitchin. On my ride hope today I was fortunate enough to come across a red F40 being driven very carefully, looked in concourse condition.

I probably made the driver a little nervous, was wondering if it was any one here so I could apologise. I was on the bike and got a bit close a couple of times before realising how inconsiderate i was being with some ones pride and joy.

It looked and sounded amazing, and popped and banged on the overrun like only an F40 could. Seemed so little close up but still had massive presence.

ETA: Red was Fxxx xxx, not personalised (or at least didn't look it)

That would be me. I do recall someone getting a little close, i was more worried about you than me.

Had a complete engine re-build from the factory and have been asked to run her in for the first 500km, only 200km left. I have a full write up on another forum, with all the aches and pains of the process.

You have no idea how difficult it is driving the car slowly

I almost followed you into the Esso garage to get a closer look but then I figured a 6'5" biker stalking you wouldn't be the most friendly of sights so I thought better of it.

I'm not sure if you noticed but I even struck up a conversation with the black golf behind you at one point as he was obviously besotted with the car too!

I hope our paths cross when it's a little more run in, I'd pay good money to hear that on song!
