I was just trying to find if there would be any interest. I attended the TrackMasters day in Feb with the EVO and it was really excellent.

Format could be as TrackMasters/Carlimits with the usual trail breaking/salom/left foot breaking stuff followed by a sprint, the diffence being Ultima only!

Previous instruction has been the excellent Mike Wilds (ex F1 956 962 etc) but I guess the real prize for us would be see if we could pick a day when Phil Keen is available!!

Cost would be about £150 for 10 cars, £130odd for 12 cars.

What is the noise limit?
I do want to have a go at this one day but for the moment that is going to involve replacing the silencers which I can't justify with other projects on the go.
Having done the test earlier in the year at Stoneleigh I'm sure many others will have the same problem.

I spoke with Rusti earlier today and asked about that same thing and he said that it would not be a problem. This looks like it could be the one we have all been waiting for yes

There are no sound checks at North Weald but they will discourage anything that makes your ears bleed (canam Davebiggrin??) The area is used by Andy Walsh most days of the week for driver training and with one car in action at the time the noise problem is quite different to a trackday or general testing. Also, being non-competitive and not a trackday, liabilty insurance is relatively easy.

The purpose of the thread was to gauge interest in arranging some driving activities. I believe an Ultima trackday has not been possible so I was wondering if a 10 car fun day would be an easy starter, you know the sort of thing, bottle of wine for FTD, can of beer for daftest spin ..........

My history is with the MLR who are superbly active with driving based stuff, trackdays, MLR Sprint Series, driver training days etc. etc. OK so I'm a noob here but we have these blinding cars and I think it's a crying shame not to give them some proper gas sometime.

Wayne has correctly suggested that North Weald is not very central to the country and is therefore biased towards us nancy southerners but I am sure there must be shed loads of similar venues in the middle of the country.

Any thoughts?

If noise is not a problem then it sounds ideal.
Add me to the list.

Right then, we need to have a rough idea of how many of us would be up for this North Weald event, any less than 10 attendees and it will not really be worth it but any more and it should be a jolly good wheez if nothing else. I reckon that we should aim for Aug/Sept. time but what say all of you?

You know what is coming next don't you, yes, the list, so here goes;

It may be of interest that I'm booked in with Stormy on 19th October http://www.track-masters.co.uk/traindays.asp

A variation on the driver training/sprint thing could be to have a 10 a side sprint vs the MLR or Lotus on Track - could be a real hoot

Not looking good at the moment - 6 interested, 2 with no engines .......laugh

Perhaps more realistic might be to do a 4 car day with Andy Walsh. Any thoughts?
