F Ram failed !!

Hi,
Hope somebody can help with a problem In have with my T350T 03.
Didnt want to turn over the other day and after a few attempts a warning msg came up reading fault code 146 F RAM FAILED.I put the car on opti-charge for 5-6hrs, the car started no probs but it still reads with the same fault code and heading,I havent driven the car yet.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Andrew
The instrument pod ECU (driver's footwell) contains CR2032 type battery for back up.
Has your mileage also been reset to zero?

Try a PH search "FRAM" for more info

Thanks Chris,cant get into car at the moment(battery must be flat again)to check the millage,very odd as the battery is only 3 mths old,what's a ph search (sorry if Im being stupid)The car's doing some weird things as if its the battery,however 3 mths old?!

Look at the top of the page, see the grey tool bar?
Option 5- (last but one on the right) "search"
Enter FRAM & hit the button, it will bring up all the threads with the words you type in the search box in the last year

Charging by small trickle charger like optimate can take 3 days!

So likely battery only had only enough to let you in & start it.

Most likely a failed 100A fuse in alternator charging circuit (under the airbox - search on here for thread) or another alternator fault which would be less common. Hope that helps
