Iconic liveries.

A topic on another forum got me thinking about this. Through the years there have been certain sponsorship liveries in all branches of motorsport that just look "right" and whose colours have become iconic, so I thought I'd round up a few of my favourites.
The first one has to be Marlboro, I know there's a lot of hoohah surrounding tobacco sponsorship in motorsports but there have been some lovely looking "fag packet" designs over the last 30 or so years.
Next up is another tobacco brand, Rothmans;
It's impossible to think about Lancia in motorsport without thinking Martini;
The most famous of them all?...

For the Delta integrale I'd agree, but Alitalia is the one I always think of for the Stratos.

Some of my favs have already been mentioned, Gulf, JPS Lotus, Rob Walker. There's also Yardley BRM and Gold Leaf Team Lotus. These older designs benefitted from simplicity, modern liveries have far too much detail.
It was nice in the days before sponshorship and when most formula one cars were british, they were all green but different shades and with different detailing, Cooper had the two white "bonnet" stripes, BRM the orange nose, Lotus a yellow stripe, Brabham a gold tripe and nose.

JPS were only black and gold for a very short period (1 or 2 years). It was found the the gold did not show up that well on TV (still mainly black and white in 1972). From 1973 onwards, the gold was changed to yellow.
Lotus had two separate periods of JPS sponsorship colours - 1972 to 1978 and 1981 to 1986. In 1979/80 they were sponsored by Martini and in 1981 they were sponsored by a very odd set up called Essex.
Of course, the first full sponsored liveried cars in F1 were the Gold Leaf Team Lotus cars of 1968. They wore those colours in 1968,69,70 and 71 before the Imperial Tobacco launched their JPS brand.

Here's another that may not be the most famous sponsor, but definitely iconic; Roger Clark's "Esso blue".
