Hi,

I have a couple of questions about the above if anyone can help?

1. How common is it and how will I know (assuming the seller lies smile) that the car is affected?
2. How much is it to fix?
3. Has anyone had a dealer contribute to the fix or have Audi UK acknowledged the problem and coughed up under warranty?
4. Is it serious enough a problem to make me buy an M5 instead!?

Go to www.rs246.com

Go to the B7 RS4 forum.

Lots of threads about this issue.

If in warrenty, it will be fixed FOC.

I recently had mine replaced under warranty on my RS6...

The comment from the RS specialist at the dealer (well known RS specialist dealer in the South East...) was that the RS4's have a very similar system and they are starting to fail. They had 4 in that week - they also had 3 RS6's in too I hasten to add!

I find it incredible that Audi used the same system with the same apparent design defects as the RS6 on the RS4. Base line is do not buy an RS6 or a {newer) RS4 without a warranty that covers DRC or shocks failure.
