My cerb has been running great for ages (thanks to Ian of RVT Cheshire). I use the cerb as often as possible at least 2-3 times per week. Took it out on Sunday and noticed after starting it on one occasion the MIL light came on. I stopped, prayed to the TVR god and restarted. Things went ok until it started to get a bit hot under the bonnet.Temp went up to 110 without fans coming on (this is with the chip that makes them come on earlier). By the time I got home there was steam coming from the expansion bottle.
Any advice on what to check first, then second, then third etc??

I'm assuming there is coolant in the car?

Check everywhere for leaks.

I'd check the fan fuses first, then perhaps disconnect them and make sure they are working with a direct current.

Plug in a laptop and check the "cold" water temp, then run the car up until it says that the fans should be on, and check they are.

If the fans are coming on, do a coolant change and maybe flush the rad while you're at it. Also, check to make sure there is no restrictions to the rad, clogged up with dirt or a dead animal stuck in there or anything.

I have a freshly recored rad in mine, The temp never went above 91C reading from the ECU sensor. This was while it was on the dyno, it was HOT in there, and 6.9ltrs to keep cool.
