I think he deserves a fair crack at the whip, he's better than recent results suggest. McLaren need two strong drivers if they are to win the manufacturers championship.

Any driver next to hamilton at the moment is not going to get the same results. The good thing about Heiki is that he is a good guy and gets on really well with Lewis which is what the team needs. Plus his results at Mclaren are a lot better then at Renault (which NP is now suffering). Just shows Mclaren know how to bring the best out of a driver.

is he consigned to being a number two against hamilton tho, not necessarily by the team but just because of hamilton, his driving, results, and to a lesser extent his relationship with mclaren?

can't see him ever winning a wdc there... (tho to be honest, not sure he's quite WDC material anyway - rate rosberg and kubica higher, accepting they are more experienced)

I wish him well, I think he might have a good couple of years there then jump ship to become no 1 driver somewhere else..

He deserves a fair go. He's got talent, but just needs to learn how to extract the best from the McLaren. He figured it out with Renault, but it seems to be taking longer this year.
