Afternoon everyone!
Well a short-lived affair with my ST220 is coming to an end
Because of our outrageous tax system in Ireland, to import the car back home I'd have to pay 36% of the "Open Market Selling Price" (about 36% of ~17000 Euro) in import taxes and then Eur 2000 per annum road tax!!
And you thought GB was taking the pi$$ with his CO2 regime!
So I'm thinking of selling....it's in the classifieds if anyone's interested give me a shout. I'm open to sensible offers

P.S. If you are relocating back home from UK to Ireland, is there not an exemption that allows you to import your car tax free (on the assumption that you have owned it for at least 6 months)? Worth looking in to but it won't help you with your annual tax bill but if you can import tax free, perhaps you could always sell it and make what would appear to be a proft if the €17k OMV is realistic!

more like 1yr I think, PiL did it with their mazda when they emigrated to some baron mountain over there. definitely check into it, but the 2k p/a is a killer in itself.

haha, i'd love to be 18 again in some ways!! Well not really but i thought i'd make you feel better. Seriously though time flys so enjoy it-you'll be driving things with insurance for pennies before you know it ST220's on 07 plates will be a few hundred quid one day(probably next year).
