Has anyone got any ideas on which roll bars to fit that won't get in the way of a soft top? I would like them to look sturdy not like some of the ones which seem to be more for show. I know that you can't guarantee that they will save you from being separated from your noddle, but at least it will help. I have seen one in the MX5 Parts catalogue, but the reviews were not very good. Any thoughts? Thanks-it's a 2004 2.5

Yep definately Phil at P5. He supplied and fitted mine.

Although in the interests of neutrality I think these guys might also supply them:

My Hard Dog Ace with single diagional and harness bar was one of my best mods, stiffens up the car loads.
Makes a barely noticable difference on a Mk2.5 (well on the 1.8 Sport anyway). The chassis is much stiffer than earlier models, especially with all the Sport braces.the tr lane rollbars are on ebay aswell and they usually sell for less than £250 and look sturdy enough and fit to the chassis, also they fit with a soft top and hard top and look good!
also you could just the the rollbar yourself and save a bit of money. All that is required are some axle stands, a 90 degree drill, sockets and less than a day( with tea breaks) to do.

I didn't fit mine myself as I figure a badly fitted roll bar is probably not a great idea!also you could just the the rollbar yourself and save a bit of money. All that is required are some axle stands, a 90 degree drill, sockets and less than a day( with tea breaks) to do.

Like I said, I did one with just long extensions - this might have made it easier though
