Have you looked at thermostat? Is the fan the always on kind, or off a switch? And does it work?

That is when the fan kicks in but before the fan use to kick in half way can you help its costing me a fortune. Only a couple of weeks ago it was running like crap and that cost over a grand to fix

If the gauge is reading correctly, have you checked you've got the right fan switch?

And are you losing any coolant from the new water pump?

you need to check to see if your fan is working on BOTH speeds. 1st speed/low speed comes on at 90something degrees and the faster 2nd setting comes on at 100ish degrees. you should have a 3 pin switch on the fan shroud - follow it back to main wiring loom connection and replace it.

If your water temp gauage is getting to 3/4 before the fan is coming on that suggests that maybe the 1st speed is not working as the fan should have cut in by then.

When you replaced the thermostat and temperate sender did you get a genuine VW ones.... i once used a GSF temperature sender and it turns out it underead by quite a large margin as my coolant temp said half way when the car was clearly overheating.

Also have you made sure the coolant system has been blead properly as air in the pipes will make the system less effective and most likely the coolant will boil over sooner. Are you losing coolant at the moment as it could be that when the car is getting hot the air pressure is blowing the coolant out of the top of the expansion bottle. Another thing to look at is the expansion bottle lid- you should have a BLUE lid, if you have a black one get it swapped for a genuine VW blue one.
