Tamora, 2 different front ends why???

Looking at maybe getting a Tamora, I prefare the front on the T350 but want a convertable.
I have noticed that in the classifieds there are 2 different front ends namely the position or the fog light.
When did this change take place and are there any other differences in this model. One dealer told me they have different seats.
Are there still engine problems with this model or was it the pre2000 tuscan engine which had the issues.
Any other info would be greatfully received.
Also what makes up the roof. When you remove the large center can it be stored in the vehicle?

Without opening a can of worms about the various sp6 engines the 3.6s are supposed to be better the the early 4.0s, and the later the better.
About the seats, the design was the same with all the Tams although the actual quality was much improved in the 03 and beyond. Some 350s will have Sag style seats with the ettended headrests or even tuscan seats, but i have not seen these in Tams. There are also some changes to the highlight colour areas on the later seats but these are minimal.
Fog light change was late 2002.
Also look for the header tank cooling mod - the ones without it have a tendency to overheat (mine did anyway, and I know there were others). Many of the early cars will have had this sorted by now.
The earliest cars had black paint in the bonnet scoops and rear diffuser - just cosmetic
Everything that can be said about the Speed 6 has been said - my opinion is they started improving in 2002 (later the better) and your chances of having a failure aren't nearly as bad as you would believe from what is said here.
Check mileages against paperwork carefully, particularly for very low mileage cars - it is not uncommon for speed sensors to fail and some owners have been more 'diligent' than others at getting this attended to.

On the original Tams they were in fact front fog lights which were changed on the facelift 03> cars to driving lights.
Mine's a Nov 02 Tamora, with the old-style front end. I prefer the looks of the later cars, but there's very little in it to worry about.
Most people talk about later cars being better, but hand on heart I can't fault my TVR. The seats are comfortable enough for a 3000-mile jaunt, and hardly any bits have dropped off.
As always, I'd choose on condition rather than build date. IMO, of course...
