Removing the Uprights.

What an absolute pain in the ****
The rears have taken most of the day to get off, I just love balljoints !
The fronts are half off but the bottom balljoints will not seperate, any one got any clues ? The speed sensor looks like its fitted from inside the hub which means unwiring it,and the rear of the stub axle needs a huge allen key to stop it rotating while you undo the hub nut !!
Oh well theres always tomorrow,if anyones got any pointers please feel free to share

I believe the allen key is 17mm (unfortunately, it's in my tool box at work, so I can't verify that this is the right size) - I use a hex socket on a 1/2" drive breaker bar. You can wedge the breaker bar against a suspension arm to keep it from rotating while you undo the hub nut. Yes Deffo 17mm allen key and very tight
You should be able to get to the nut on the back of the speed sensor with a slim spanner
Its between the allen bolt head and the inside of the hub I think its 12mm
Just remove all the goo after and its should pull out
It was also easier to put the top joint back in the arm to hold it steady whilst wacking at the bottom one again
Good ball joint splitter and a BIG hammer
Matty.

ok managed to buy a ball joint splitter which was perfect for the job but.... the speed sensor looks like it screws in from the inside of the hub theres no goo that I can see... has any one else had any experience with changing these and if so how do I remove it ?
