Just thought I would share a selection of really great roads that are near me (south lanarkshire/ayrshire/dunfries/galloway):

Eaglesham Moor B764 & old A77: Very undulating and quick over the moor and then onto some very fast sections of the old A77!

Strathaven to Muirkirk B743: Twisty with a variety of surfaces and empty.

Crawick to Crawfordjohn B740: Great surface most of the time, a very entertaining drive and deserted!

A702 from Carronbridge: An amazing road similar to the B740, must be driven.

In my opinion the above roads must be amongst the best in the whole of the UK. And unlike the Highlands these roads are very often deserted. Drive them all on a Sunday night and you might only overtake 1 other vehicle.

The Eagleshamm Moor road has be downgraded to single track and is not as much fun as it used to be.

Lots of traffic calming type chicanes.

Still a good road.

On the Crawfordjohn rd try turning left at Crawick and coming back by Leadhills. Makes a great loop.

Cheers
