Hello all, I've just purchased a '92 pre-cat Griff 400 and I'd appreciate some advice on parts and where to get them. I have a lot of experience of pre-M and M series cars but almost no experience of these later types....anyway...

There's a slight weep from the water pump so I'd like to replace the Rover V8 water pump. Is this a "standard part" or do I need to go to a TVR parts supplier? If so can anyone recommend a supplier?

I'd like to change the front discs and front a rear pads. Any ideas of part numbers, donor cars, recommended supplier and pad type for road use.

I'd also like (looking towards the winter) to change the hood (or repair it) and the dash. Any advice on this? The current dash is rather cracked but I'd prefer a veneered type to an after-market as long as the cost isn't too prohibitive.

Lastly, I was thinking of changing the oil pump as the engine has done 60k - just as a precaution thinking that ensuring good oil flow will keep the engine going a lot longer. Any thoughts on this anyone?

Cheers for any advice,

Neil

Standard Rover water pump.

Think Ford Sierra, most decent motor factors will match the up for you.
Also have a look at the Griffith pages.com for alternative parts.

Again, look on the Griffith pages for hood renew help, DavidH on here sells complete hood kits.
Dash can be re-veneered, a company called London carriage craft do them.

What is oil pressure like anyway? Most get around 25-45 psi , so aslong as its somewhere near there it should be ok.

Are you coming to the growl next weekend?

hi Niel, welcome to griffdome, a water pump can be sourced on ebay , wil try an find the shops name later, also try Mike at tvr supplies, ebay shop as well, he will also be able to sort out the discs and pads for you.
the dash can be done by London Carrige Craft, not cheap, but top quality workmanship, the hood , there is a chap advertising these at a good price here on the classifieds.

try to ingnore Pasco, he`s like the boy at school who`s everyones mate when you have a packet of sweets in your hand, ie a greedy bugger!!hehe
