Sadly chaps, I've left the TVR fraternity. I've sold up my 500 and had to move on. It was a fantastic experience, and I never really had any serious problems (only big bill was for a thorough workover at Thames Valley with a new clutch, ball joints and front bushes) and it was really very reliable and full of character. I'd happilly own one again.

However, my wife and I are expecting a baby soon, so with no second car available I'd have to drive minimum of 100+ miles a day every day come rain or shine (including a lot of London traffic) and I just couldn't do that to either me or the car.

Hopefully I'll be back in the fold once the children have grown up a bit and I don't need an estate car :-)

Take care, and thanks for all the help and advice over the last few years.

Jon did you sell privately? If so, may I ask where you put the ads?

I'm sure you'll be back to the fold one day....

Oh no sorry, could do what I do. I have 3 kids, vw passsat £450 for everyday transport and 5ltr chimaera for my selfish fun. Helps to have a really understanding family, they only go in it one at a time!

You had one before kids? Lucky you

We had to wait until their teenage years before finally getting a Chim. Worth the wait though
