Not sure what the chaps name was, but it has a 5L Supercharged Rover V8 in it... 500BHP!! Great looking car. Loved the 80's interior too! Brilliant!!

Hi Nick,

Oh I'm a fan of stripes in the main (see my Mustang in my profile) - but why so narrow? Never been a fan of the factory vinyls either - but as you say, each to their own smile

By the way, I've uncovered a few useful bits for the car after having a tidy up in the garage - if you email me your address I'll send them on.

Hope you're enjoying the car.

The stripe width arrived from the rear lid power bulge, which was carried forward to the front end. I think also the camera which took the shot has a slight wide angle lens this has slightly distorted the shot. In the flesh it gives a different perspective.

I will send you a mail

Do you have a full stripe at the rear? Since on mine the stripes are on the power bulge only, with a tapering end, so a half length stipe on the front I thought looked OK.

Here is some real and original stripes on my Viper taken recently at LeMans!

They are the real thing!!!

I carried the stripes right through, thought they looked better.

Hi Nick,

I can see why they're the width they are from your rear end shot, it would look odd with the rear 'hump' wider. But to me, they're still too narrow. Perhaps a wide central stripe with 2 narrow ones flanking it?

Anyway, it's what you like and that's what matters smile

You'll have to excuse me, but having given 'birth' to the car, you do get quite attached to them smile It was like seeing a beautiful ex that you'd had to let go of, only to see her again and find she'd been covered in tatoos hehe

Here's my little bestriped 'pony':

PS. Dull trivia: 'Real' stripes are actually 'Briggs Cunningham' stripes - doesn't have quite the same ring as Le Mans/Shelby/Viper though has it smile
