VW golf noises..

got my mk3 at the weekend, and from cold theres a weird high pitch ticky/cheepy noise, not effected by revs at all, no aircon, so its not that..

any thoughts?

now its flashing "IN 02" when I start it.. I assume it needs a service, how do I reset it?

Ive figured out how to reset the service warning, and the squeel is a tight fan belt.
