OK so I have just broken the golden rule if something is not broke dont try and fix it

decided to treat the Tam to some glow fuses all the time thinking as I was contorted into a rather strange shape upside down head in the footwell that 'I bet I mess this up' and sure enough when I tried starting her up she fires into life stuttered and died did this on a couple of attempts until I fiddled around with the fuses/ cables again and she fired up took her for a jaunt up to temp and parked up

Tried to start her again this morning same thing happened

Now I am guessing a dodgy fuse or connection but any pointers in the right direction coil? fuel pump? ecu?

would say replace all the fuses back and i would not be surprised if all is fixed. In my job if something has just been played around with and then fails, we look at that first. Just a hunch but look at the fuses

Thanks Dicky that what I was trying to say was rather than re installing all the fuses it would be easier to narrow it down to one or maybe two

will be replacing all the fuses that relate to ignition type stuff tonight

Could you have knocked one of the fuel pump relays?

Replaced all the fuses again checked cables and relays and she fired up sweet took out for a run everything fine

fingers crossed everything alright but suspect there is a loose connection somewhere in for a service in two weeks so will get it checked out if it happens again

OK this is becoming a pain took about 15mins last night to change fuses back no difference played with some cabling fiddled around a little and she starts not once but several times go for a drive running sweet

get up this morning and she is refusing to start engine kicks in then dies kicking a load of fuel out the exhaust in backfires

check fuses cables relays etc nothing doing, anybody got any suggestions

Sorry, not very helpful, but couldn't resist. On a serious note, it could be an earthing issue or even a loose cable on the fuse box. Have you taken the whole box out and had a good look to make sure the main feeds on the back of it are nice and tight?

Couldn't be the infamous 'main' fuse could it?

Could it be the imobiliser perhaps disconnect battery then re connect could re set something you have disturbed

called RAC out this morning baffled them as well not sure if the throttel sensors / lambda sensors are playing up as she is running rich

they are now arranging for it to be flat bedded over to power
