At Silverstone last Tuesday, the gearchange was not quite so 'like a bullet' precise as it usual is; we seemed to have to be just a little bit 'more deliberate', just to be 100% sure of not getting a false neutral; tried it static in the paddock and it seemed that it was actually fully going/locking into gear just as the clutch pedal was being let back up the first few millimetres after making the change; no problem at all when actually on track, but does something need adjusting, like the clutch cable and or the gear linkage? If so, how and how should I set it/them.

While I think of it, that very occassional misfire we had last time out at Silverstone has completely disappeared now we've fitted those new sit-in Magnecor leads to replace the old 'wobblies'. As they say, "expensive, but worth it".

Just stating the obvious, but I have have had similar problems and found it simply by checking all the nuts / links are tight. the bolt actually connectin to the linkage on the engine has worked a tiny bit loose and that was enough to make the change less than precise...

on my clubsport, the locking nut had come loose so the rod end had some play in it where it was screwed into the linkage. That had the effect you describe.
