Thats a bargain!

Roger - does your demo have a dyno power printout as I know of someone who is looking for a cheapish Monaro...?

Not in its current guise. About 430bhp though give or take a bit. Wortec focus pac, basically, though it does have LS2 heads on it which can only help

On holiday and slightly controversial but what is the impact on the engine (no smart responses of more power) of bolting on a supercharger? Read an interesting article recently about modifying engines and the effect mods have on the car as a whole. All made good sense. Just like to set the hare running......

What effect does it have, well based on my recent experiance of takin someone out in mine to show them what a SC Ro is like cos they were thinking of going down this route - it makes you smile alot!! driving

Reliability and engine life will obviously be effected but unless your going to do 150k miles in it or spend your life bouncing off the limited I doubt you will have much of an issue so long as you change the oils regular and keep an eye on belts etc. Treat it as a tuned car rather than a deisel mondeo and all should be fine.

Very much depends on what you want to spend. As a guide, a positive displacment SC like the Harrop or Maggie at a safe 9psi with exhaust will yield around ~470hp at the wheels on an LS2 or ~430hp on an LS1 (assuming ~100hp loss from flywheel figures). Tuned right, it will last a lot longer than you are likely to keep the car. At 12psi you may get a bit more power but pistons are a weak point and if they fail it can be expensive.

If you want ultimate power, throw away everything except the block and start again with new internals, decent heads, cam, exhaust, fuel system, clutch and throttle body. Stick on a decent blower and while you may spin up to 12-15psi, the volume of air passing through the engine will be loads more, so will the power. This is exactly what I'm doing and I will post the results when it's done. I'm told to expect a reliable 600 - 650hp at the wheels and the rotating assembly alone is rated for 1100hp so it's well within limits. I know Mark has done a couple of 700rwhp monsters and he says they are not nice to drive so 600 should be plenty

As far as I know, gearbox isn't an issue.

Well I love the car - and am looking to upgrade to something even quicker (and have my eye on one!)

Gad - I sound like JamieP ! smile

So have decided that I will try and sell mine - rather than go for for the p/ex
