Has anybody found a half reasonable colour match. Halfords spray paints?

Is this for repair or colour change? either way, wouldn't it be better to get someone to refurb it for you? Unless you've got some skill (not that I'm saying you haven't) I wouldn't take a can of spray paint to my alloys.

The problem with these wheels is they are painted with a shadow chrome effect.
This involves a semi opaque silver being painted over a black base. As a result trying to repeat the finish to the same colour is nigh-on impossible. I know some people have have near matches but never perfect.

Your better off repainting the lot (could get away with one sidewink ). Better still paint them another more easily matchable colour for future maintenance.

ive got to do the same with mine. Planning to paint them black first, then have a really thin coat of silver. Not sure exactly what shade silver, might try to take a wheel to somewhere to match it the best they can.

If you do all 4, it wont matter. Just make sure you lacquer them really well too.

One of mine has a very slight grazing on about a quarter of the edge of the wheel.
The majority of the black is still there. I thought I could rub the excess metal, fill, mask and paint the area black (even using a toiuch up) then spray with a suitable silver over the top. Un mask and fade silver if required.

The word I had heard was that Chipsaway couldn't do anything.

Getting the full wheel refurbed is a hassle, as is getting all four.

Cheers
