right then - just built myself 2 new bikes and have also bought 2 x new saddles (iddentical) for each!

Must say that althought they look sexy - they are not really comfortable . . .

Race Bike
Selle SLR Genuine Gel

Need some good options before I seek to find an old Turbo saddle.

+1 for SDG Bel Air. Wouldn't use anything else these days.

Try the new Flite saddle.. I got the Troy Lee Design on one of my rigs and its damn comfortable (albeit not very pretty)

ETA... find a Selle Italia dealer that has the "test center" where you can borrow a demo saddel to try before you buy.

I run a Flite Ti on the bouncy bike and a Flite Genuine Gell on the rigid commuter.

Both are lovely and comfortable (the GG slightly more so).

Brooks Pro and San Marco Rolls are widely considered to be the two main "performance/comfort" saddles, although they are quite heavy. It's better to lug around an extra 0.2kg than be in perineal pain after 30 miles.

San Marco Rolls is the best saddle ever made. Every bike I owned, I always swapped in my trusty Rolls.

A design classic if there ever was..

The Rolls will do you head in for about a week until it conforms and then its like heaven. Never ridden a better saddle than them.

Specialized Toupe or Alias are super. Get one in white.
