Could this finally be the game to topple COD4 in the online multiplayer stakes? Had the first on PC and loved it to bits.
I think it would be some achievement to do that but would welcome a game that could do it. COD4 did the same to BF2 IMO. It's always good for the bar to be raised. Maybe a cross between Battlefront and COD4 with big maps, 50 players and (unlike Battlefront) someone who plays it....Jonny671 said:
I've never even heard of this game.
But a game which could topple COD4, i'll probably play it. But COD will take some beating, theres still thousands of us who play it.
The origional was well ahead of its time. If you have a PC and some time buy it off amazon for a couple of quid and it will totally absorb you for a while. It still stands up very well today But a game which could topple COD4, i'll probably play it. But COD will take some beating, theres still thousands of us who play it.
Indeed, the first was a revolution in battlefield simulation, able to control every aspect from Sea/Land/Sky and with mods, alot more. The fact that you can attack an island, lose your team, mug a local for his hugo and go driving around to find a tank or chopper to steal, it was fantastic, i loved the whole freedom to do what you liked aspect.
Nukes were added, which were quite fun.

So strictly speaking, the true successor to OF is the already-released ArmA...
