Hi All,

Just thought I would say hi and see if any one else is booked up?

Specifically anyone who will be in either a 2.2na VX220 or an S2000 and wouldn't mind taking me out for a pax lap as I am thinking about selling my kit and buying one of those.

Cheers
Andy

Hello,

I'm there but unfortunately not in either of the cars you requested.

Got problems with mine at the moment so some days in the rain fixing it required!!

LMMojo - I wont be there but am considering popping along to abingdon on the friday afternoon. Ive just got a vxt so your more than welcome to come out in that. I sold my mk at the beginning of the year, and although the vxt isnt as track focused or quick, its so much nicer as a compromise between a trackday car and an everyday car!

I'll be there on Saturday, not in a VX or S2K though, sorry.

Toady1, I sold my MK earlier this year as well, you might remember I took you out for a few laps at Abingdon in it, black with a VX 2.0 XE engine? Dont miss it at all as now in a Caterham R300 Superlight.

Down on power from the Indy from 245 to 165 ish in the R300 but lighter by about 80kgs at least.
People always ask how it compares and the simple answer is it just doesn't, the R300 inspires such confidence in the twisty bits you find yourself approaching corners at speeds and carrying that speed through corners you didn't think were possible. Adjustable ARBs front & rear help a lot as do the race springs I fitted plus the geometry of the Caterham in general all make for a more planted ride in all manner of conditions. Only problem I have is the set up I currently have is a little 'dart' like for the public roads.
I'm well happy with the R300, but glad I went down the homebuild route before ending up with what I always wanted, delayed gratification is a wonderful thing. Problem is now what I want is a new R500.

Hi,

Toady - Thanks for the offer for a ride tomorrow but I would not be able to get the time off work. Its unfortunate that they only do Abingdon on a Friday as I just dont have enough annual leave to do it this year. Do you use the VXT as your only car? I will be moving out of Parents house over the winter and just can not see me being able to afford to run 2 cars and

chaosss have you got your car sorted yet?

croftsj - What colour is the Caterham as i'll look out for you.

I will be easy to spot as I will probably still have my gulf stickers on the car (bag over head)which I put as a laugh for a European road trip a few weeks ago but have been told to wait for a hot day before taking them off and that hasn't happened. Plus I kind of like em on and fancy a few pics of the car on track with them on.

Fingers crossed for good weather as BBC is showing heavy rain.

Oh and dont we all want an R500

My R300 is Aztec Orange with a black nose band & centre stripe. I might wimp out on an aeroscreen for Saturday as the weather does look foul for the afternoon. I've done Colerne 3 times now and they've all been wet. It's a good surface though and not too harsh on tyres unlike some other airfields.

Well that was fun if a little wet, mildly moist as Top Gear would say.

Good to meet at least 1 other PHer Lostmymojo, hope the fuelling issues are sorted soon.

Hiya, good to meet you too. The trackday was slightly damp wasn't it. My seats are still drying indoors as I type.
Audi TTC was it yourself that I took out in my car or was it your mate?

croftsj - Did you get back ok as my Dad thought he may of seen you pulled over on the hard shoulder of the M4 but saw you to late to stop himself - I didn't see you as I was asleep.

The ECU is going back to manufacturer tomorrow to as I think that may be where the problem is and we will go from there. Im hoping to get car sorted asap as I want to do at least two more trackdays before the end of summer. Although I might be to late for that judging from the weather.

All in all an entertaining day but not what i was hoping for

That was me you gave a lift to - thanks again, awesome car!

Hope everything gets sorted for you ASAP so you can get those track days in!

My next one is going to be Combe on 1st September, with BHP Track Days.

It was slightly wet. Had a couple of aquaplanning moments.

Didn't realise other PH's were there. I was driving the black E36 M3 saloon. I took my brother in law and he had a few goes and did well considering he had never driven the car before.

I think it's time we all get some PH smiley stickers for our cars! smile

Assuming all goes well for my dedicated track-toy purchase, that'll have a couple of PH smilies on it for sure!
