What do I need ?
Discussion
The head and tail light bulbs really are not the sort of thing that I would change at the side of the road, so would the BIB check the bulbs are right for the car or would any set of bulbs be enough to wave under their noses if asked to show them ?
What about reflective jackets, Ive heard stories of need ing these now ?
Oh and one more lol what about insurance whilst on the ring if your uk insurance says you are not covered on it ?

I'm a Euro Hoon veteran of a few years now & did my last one a month or so ago.
In France you need a hig viz vest in the drivers compartment with you. IIRC its 90Eu fine for not having it there. I used to carry mine in the boot.
I've never bothered with a full bulb set due to cost of the HID's(i drive an S2k at present) so carry everything but the HID bulbs. Never been checked in 3 years of hooning with numerous stops from the French/Swiss/German/Itallian (delete as appropriate) cops.
Warning triangle needed in the boot.
This summer the gendarmes have been nicking stacks of UK motorists on the routes to & from the ports. Its the usual seasonal targetting but this year there were far more radar traps & mobile patrols than i've seen before. Have heard that unmarked cars are more common within 70k of the ports too.
Some good overseas advice on the Foreign Office & AA websites
