Could anybody give experiences of replacing the door seal rubber that goes around the bodywork to seal against the door.

I have a new seal and wonder if the join on mine is the same on other cars with it at the bottom about 8" from the front. It is easy to catch with your feet as you get into the car and I wondered if anybody had repositioned the join to avoid this and if so where to.

Any experiences would be most appreciated.

Thats the normal place that the Join goes. You need to glue it in place, th rubber seal to the body, and also glue the join together, using a contact adhesive like Evo-stick.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I am sure my existing one is the original so was not surprised that they are all like that. Personally I think the join would be better beside the seats away from your feet as you get in.

My door seals have a bonded plastic strip with about 12 little 'bullets' that push into holes along the rear and top of the inner door opening, so mine can't be re-positioned.

Replaced mine on my first one. Just stick it on with glue and make sure the little pins are all aligned. Give it a little stretch once in place to give it a nice straight line.
