I was riding down the Old Kent Road, just about to turn the corner which leads up to New Cross at around ten to eight tonight.

There were cars parked along the side of the road so I was about to pull out into the middle of the two lane road, I looked over my shoulder to check that my way was clear.
A red and white motorbike was coming up behind me at speed, and did not register my presence in any way- he would have clipped my side if I had not braked and moved to the left.
He was stopped at traffic lights further along the road when I pulled up to his left.
I said “could you look next time?”
He said “what!”
I said “you almost hit me”
He said “look at you on your piece of st!” Whilst we both pulled away.
Then he drove directly at me, cutting across my front as I braked sharply and pulled to the left.
He was very deliberately trying to force me into the pavement or the back of a parked car.
This happened two more times as I tried to get going again- although I will admit I was calling him a c*nt by the third time.
He then sped off.
I tried to catch up with him, but my legs vs. a 650cc+ did not make it happen.

Red and white large capacity motorbike, LY07UVR.

Anyone know how I could trace the guy?

I have already reported him to the coppers for dangerous driving, but I ride a bike, I have no illusions about how important I am in the scheme of things.

When stopped at the lights, grab his keys (centre of the handlebars). Throw them under the nearest parked car and ride off.

You are now a normal, experienced bike rider. Get used to it and look forward to the rare opportunity to get your own back.

I've been hit by two black cabs, one police armoured response vehicle, and taken off by a motorbike courier.
All of these have been "mistakes" caused by the driver not looking where he was going.

Worst of them was the motorbike courier- I ended up lying on his fuel tank as he said "you are ok?! You are ok?!", when I slid off and stood up he sped off.

That was in the middle of Charing Cross road- no witnesses. Hmm.

None of these (and so many near misses it pains me to think of them) have been a deliberate attempt to drive me into the kerb/parked car.

Being honest- how many times has that happened to you?

I'm a grown up cyclist now.

The coment at the traffic lights would be the icing on the cake for me. If there was nothing i could of picked up i would of drop kicked the c--t of his bike jumped on his ribs then got his keys and put them down the nearest drain or thrown them in the nearest field or bush. No excuse for that, It makes my blood boil and then i cant help my actions for jerks like that.. punch

Isn't it actually your responsibility to move when it is safe? You ARE moving into his lane.

Comment at lights aside, that was out of line.
Not meant to come across as trolling btw.

He was in my lane, coming up behind me. If I had not looked behind me when I went to move toward the middle of the two lanes I'd have been taken off.

Fair enough, I misunderstood. Thought you were in L1, he was in L2, but you were moving to L2 due to obstruction in L1.

How? You'll be long gone before he's even got the bike out of the middle of the road, let alone on the stand and got off it. Plus running in full bike gear isn't exactly the easiest activity.

Unless you turn off the main road and hide, he will put the sidestand down, get keys, return to bike. Pursue you, and push you off. Then administer steel toe capped kicks.

Or he could wait till you pull out for parked cars, and block you / push you into them. You'll find most bikers don't take kindly to people fking with their stuff. Regardless of whether they are in the wrong laugh

First post here folks go easy eh??!

Hmm.. sounds like regular London fun then.

I hear that for £2.50 you can get full details of veehicals - www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/Advic... You will need to prove 'reasonable cause' apparently.... not sure if there's a box for 'chasing down a psychotic killer for retribution' but you never know! biggrin
Worst case, try running it through your company for 'marketing purposes' or 'internal investigations'.. BINGO!

Strangely enough I don't take too kindly to dim witted people who nearly cause me harm due to their inattention. The good thing about laying into an idiot motorcyclist is all the body armour and helmet mean you can pound on 'em harder and for longer. It's always frustrating when they just slump down in a heap in front of you after a gentle slap.wink

Aye, but reinforced knuckle gloves don't half hurtwink. Ask the gent who drives a yellow MG hatchbatch in Halewood, Liverpool. I'm sure he could tell you, if he's found his teeth yetwink
