Just back from a trip to the States, having hired myself a new Pontiac G8 GT. As I loaded up the car with luggage in the hire depot, three people warned me not to go losing my licence smile

It was actually a great hire car, and I would get one again. It had a mahoosive boot too, and I even kinda liked the bonnet intakeswink

Nice photos. I used to live/work in Maine (Mt Desert Island) and I'd love to go back there one day.

prefer the look of that at the front to the VXR8, especially the bottom grill.

You have to remember this is the Holden SS equivalent and not the HSV. The GXP will be the HSV model like our VXR8.

Spotted a couple being loaded onto a transporter at Southampton docks whilst picking up my ute. So someone here is getting them.

They were left hookers, and come to think of it, they were a non descript dark blue kind of military colour, not one you would choose for your own set of wheels?

Rich, did you get my PM about the Efilive? I posted on the main site for the info as I did not hear from you?

I like it too, more anonymous big saloon than brash dealer management special.

Excellent value to at £15K. I accept there would be a bit of tax on that but why oh why do we have to pay £35 for the VXR8? Why can't they leave out all the bling.

Presumably an auto? How did you find it?

An auto, yes.

"find" as in drive? cloud9 And actually pretty economical.

"find" as in choose? I actually asked for a Dodge Charger, but the Alamo rep said that that was rubbish compared to the G8. I queried whether that really meant he had a lot of them to shift, and he said "No, we've only got one at the depot".

Only an old one. The new one was actually horrible in the flesh!
