Don't disregard the Speed 6 until you have seen one. Mines a 2001 and came without any colours on the upper part of the engine, so I would assume that the powder coating was done by the previous owner.

Good luck with your search.

The blue cam cover denotes a late 2005 onward engine which is 4 litre & 365 BHP which were fitted in the standard Tuscan. The red cam cover is also a 4 litre engine from the same period but 380 BHP as fitted in the Sagaris and Tuscan S.

Interesting, so does anyone know if the black cover denotes anything. Mine was rebuilt in Nov 05 at the factory. I certainly wouldn't discount the S6 Cerbera by the way. Mine is and has been fantastic since day one!

Thanks
Graham (Speed 6 cerb)

I am looking for a S6 too. if this is the one that is advertised it looks like a good one - rebuilt engine and chassis for the right money. My only problem is the colour - having owned a 'hot pink' Chim in the past my next TVR will be colour i want rather than impulse buy!

Oh dear, here we go again.

Al, most people are going to say it has to be a AJPV8 to be a "Proper" Cerbera.

I was tempted to look at the S6, but was lucky to find a nice 4.5.

It's up to you mate!
I think the S6 is still a great car, as that engine is a fantastic "Screamer" but very docile low down!
The steering was made a bit less direct and the springs that little bit easier for the road.
They tried to make the S6 just that be nicer to drive in every day conditions apparently), but a lot of V8 have had suspension mods by now.

If you are a straight 6 man, as opposed to a V8 man, you will enjoy it just as much as I do. As long as the engine has had the rebuild and you do the normal checks. Does it smoke etc.. it should be OK.

All the TVR engines need to be allowed to warm up and get the oil going round before you open the load pedal fully.
But then every car should be given that courtesy????

If you are new to TVR ownership I can reccomend you join the TVRCC and go down to your local meet and chat to owners if it doubt.

Steve's just a little bitter having had his purple car knocked back by a couple of propsective purchasers on colour alone. Colour choice is probably the last consideration when buying a Cerb. I started off with a 'must have purple one' attitude and ended up with a yellow one hehe

Dont worry BigAl - I wasnt having a go. Purple is a beeeeaaauuuutiful colour but its not to everyones taste. I was just rather surprised that despite mine being reduced from £12500 down to offers over £8k which is a bloody bargain considering the amount spent on it, you opted for the S6.

Bottom line - its a fantastic car - enjoy it!!
