ER, no.

All vehicles will be behind book price currently although not THAT far off the pace in RS4s case

I'm afraid they are, in the trade they have dropped like a stone recently, like all cars over 225g/km. I was looking for one 3 months ago, and the price change since then is just phenominal - I was looking at an 06 saloon for £35k, but I can now buy the same age etc car, for £30k. I was chatting to a buyer for a large Audi group this week about RS4's, and he said he had the pick of the bunch with RS4's at the moment, and bought one last week for just under £5k under book. The M3 is even worse, new cars are dropping £10k overnight!!! The market isn't good at there at the moment, for big lumpy engined cars. It will level at some point, just when, and I suspect that some prices will go back up. I think in the long run the RS4 will fare better than most, due to its limted numbers.

I run a large independant garage and am glad that we only source cars for people and not stock any, dealars are wiping thousands off their books monthly at the moment - Funnily enough its the main dealers that are saying prices aren't dropping as much as they are.

I feel for anyone who has a 225g/km+ car /4x4 on finance at the moment, I have customers who are miles round the wrong way finance wise, as their car value has plummeted.

I'm just biding my time now to grab a bargain when they bottom out - an M3 or RS4!!

You can get a B5 RS4 for that price with change and you will not lose much come resale.
Just as quick as the 2nd gen RS4.

Just my 2ps worth

They 'feel' fast, but the drive isn't even in the same league.

True in many respects, though the vast & easy tuning abilites of the B5 mean that it's not at all difficult to match the B7 in performance terms... But not quite the feel. Of course looks are a more subjective matter and in that regard I would have to side with the superbly handsome Avant-only B5.

From what I remember in Evo Mag, the performance of the B5 and B7 are roughly equivalent from 0-60 and 0-100mph.
