What should we expect from Subaru in the next few years?
Discussion
Hi folks, as the title says really, anyone know what's in the pipeline from Subaru?
Will we see Diesel Foresters and Imprezas (maybe even a diesel wrx?)
Will there be a new Forester STI?
Will there be a new auto/semi auto gearbox coming through?
All just out of general interest in the marque...
ta!

STi SuperWagon convertible with 1000cc 12cyl boxer engine, Quad turbo's, CVT transmission, extra Hydrogen/fresh air fuel tanks, cold drinks dispenser, microwave oven and auto-commode type bucket seats for those extra long journeys without stopping
I'll have mine with the all over multi-coloured LED bodywork and 24" morphing wheels. TYVM

I'm sure I saw it reported (or maybe I was talking to a dealer principal?) that a go faster diesel Impreza was very much on the cards as they have de-tuned the new engine to achieve emissions targets in the UK market. Will we see Diesel Foresters and Imprezas (maybe even a diesel wrx?)

Same guy also reported a new autobox "coming but don't hold your breath"

1000cc 12cyl boxer engine, Quad turbo's,

Funny you mention an engine like that, Porsche actually did a 1500cc flat-12 in 1948. Supercharged (possibly twin) iirc, something like 375bhp @ 10k rpm. Yes please

Maybe they could get it to run on high octane Coca-Cola
I wouldn't mind as i love coke and i'd sneek quick suck from the pump while i'm filling up.
Hey.....just think of the fizzy bubbles coming out of the exhuast. Blimey that's greener and kinder to the environment than some of the bubbles that eminate from my arse

Blimey, I asked what I though was a very straight laced question, and some of you lot seem to be on the funny pills!
I think a semi auto diesel preza could be just the ticket for a daily driver... bit like a dsg Golf TDI only more interesting!
Sorry for the straight-laced answer. Off to take some funny pills...

Edward, I'd heard similar to you, just wanted to confirm I hadnt dreamt it, and see if anyone knew more... as you say, the dealers seem to be somewhat non-comittal!
Oh, and the Subaru UK website is not exactly fantastic for news!!
Dealers non-commital 'cos Subaru tells them eff all of nothing I'm reliably informed!Oh, and the Subaru UK website is not exactly fantastic for news!!

I'd rather spend the money on a Murtaya with a 500bhp (easy power) scooby lump and running gear. The Murtaya weighs bugger all and with 500bhp and torque to match will be an absolute hoot!!!
Will make a cracking track car with very little to keep up with it either on track or public roads!! I foresee a mighty ring basher there!!

The Murtaya is an unbelievably good car - I sold my VXR220 to get one - delivery sometime next month - absolutely wetting my pants in anticipation!
There seems to be a bit of a lack of small light sports cars with any power that can actually be used everyday.
Subaru missed a trick with this one!
