Hi folks, as the title says really, anyone know what's in the pipeline from Subaru?

Will we see Diesel Foresters and Imprezas (maybe even a diesel wrx?)

Will there be a new Forester STI?

Will there be a new auto/semi auto gearbox coming through?

All just out of general interest in the marque...

ta!

hehe

Funny you mention an engine like that, Porsche actually did a 1500cc flat-12 in 1948. Supercharged (possibly twin) iirc, something like 375bhp @ 10k rpm. Yes please biggrin

I'm sure I saw it reported (or maybe I was talking to a dealer principal?) that a go faster diesel Impreza was very much on the cards as they have de-tuned the new engine to achieve emissions targets in the UK market.

Same guy also reported a new autobox "coming but don't hold your breath"

Hey.....just think of the fizzy bubbles coming out of the exhuast. Blimey that's greener and kinder to the environment than some of the bubbles that eminate from my arse rofl

Impreza SSTi QT V12 Burblemaker biggrin

Blimey, I asked what I though was a very straight laced question, and some of you lot seem to be on the funny pills! smile

I think a semi auto diesel preza could be just the ticket for a daily driver... bit like a dsg Golf TDI only more interesting!

Edward, I'd heard similar to you, just wanted to confirm I hadnt dreamt it, and see if anyone knew more... as you say, the dealers seem to be somewhat non-comittal!

Oh, and the Subaru UK website is not exactly fantastic for news!! smile

New Tribeca actually looks OK! And goes OK with 3.6 ltr flat 6, too.

Is this a record?

hehe I'm actually warming to the Impreza STI shape... looks very businesslike in the flesh...

Oh the Toyota Prius. So much to hate on so many levels!

I wish someone would produce something akin to the old Delphino (I think that's what it was called) on a mass-produce basis.

the Feroce wasnt it?

Have you seen the Murtaya? Although it's not mass produced, I still think it's kinda cool!

That Celica sounds interesting. I hope they can bring it in at a sensible weight!

I'd rather spend the money on a Murtaya with a 500bhp (easy power) scooby lump and running gear. The Murtaya weighs bugger all and with 500bhp and torque to match will be an absolute hoot!!!

Will make a cracking track car with very little to keep up with it either on track or public roads!! I foresee a mighty ring basher there!! biggrin

The Murtaya is an unbelievably good car - I sold my VXR220 to get one - delivery sometime next month - absolutely wetting my pants in anticipation!

There seems to be a bit of a lack of small light sports cars with any power that can actually be used everyday.
Subaru missed a trick with this one!
