hi do i need track day insurance? if anyone has insurance whats it costing them on what car and if you dont is it a case of you pay for your own car and whoever else maybe involed pays for theres when it all goes tits up?

There is no obligation to have it. There is no fault on track days so if you have a multi car accident (very rare) then each person deals with their own damage.

If you do have insurance it will only cover accident damage to your own car anyway.

Cheapest way to get it is to have it included in your regular policy.

I used to have it, but my insurer dropped the cover so now I do without.

You can get 1 day cover... its normally 1% car value / day with a 10% car value excess...

Some insurers or brokers do road / track packages which include a number of free track days, or some charge you 50 quid a go for a day on the tarmac.. performance marques do mine..thro' royal sun alliance..

Standard packages like AA or Direct Line wont touch it.. so you will have to move..
