Always wanted one of these, maybe the time has come to sell both cars and just run one monster, even with crap mpg it would\could be cheaper overall. PLus a 2006 VXR is becoming a real bargain.

I've done a bit of research, but still struggling to find these answers:

1) How is good\bad is the standard stereo system. Yes I know the V8 is an awesome soundtrack on it's own, but a good stereo is important.
2)Can you get a mountain bike, with wheels and seat post off, into a 6.0 VXR boot? I know they have a smaller boot.
3) If not, are roof rails available or a will any good bike rack fit?
4) If not, can you fit a removable\fold away tow bar?
5) Any options which I should look out for when buying a 6.0?
6) Will a Wortec remap help fuel consumption when cruising?

Thanks in advance.

I'd say it is ok, nothing special though

Not a chance!

Don't Know
4) If not, can you fit a removablefold away tow bar?
I believe that you need some sort of type approval to fit a tow bar which the Monaro has not got
5) Any options which I should look out for when buying a 6.0?
There wasn't any options as such, only aftermarket options. With so many about I'd look for one that at least has a Wortec or similar exhaust
6) Will a Wortec remap help fuel consumption when cruising?
IMHO not significantly

3) Lots of options but they may need to be sourced from Aus

4) Does type approval relate to the fitting of a tow bar or the pulling of a trailer?
I understand the limitation of the Monaro is the lack of adjustable headlight beams from the drivers seat. This may not matter if you only tow a push bike.

As far as the MTB thing goes, i cant get mine in the boot and i have the big boot mate. I have to put it in a bag on the bag seat and the wheels go in bags in the boot. Pain in th arse putting bike on back seats as the seats dont go far enough fwd really. Thule do a roof bar kit but ive only found it listed in OZ and iirc its $400.

It's not great - doesn't have RDS (doesn't exist in Aus as far as I know) and the CD player cannot play MP3s.

Mine has gotten steadily better as the miles have gone on - it's in the 20s as an average and I've seen 30mpg but that may have had little to do with the remap and more to do with the engine loosening up.
