Hi all

Just thought I'd put this one out there to see if anyone had had the same problems......

On turning off the ignition and removeing the keys my engine remained idling as though I hadn't turned it off. By luck, the engine cut off when I was fumbling in the passenger footwell looking for divine inspiration. I must have nudged some switch or sticking relay I guess. Took car to garage and they changed the ignition switch and this problem went away, until today, when it did it again. A tap on the carpet at the bottom of the passenger footwell did the trick and the engine stopped. The cooling fans statyed on though, which required another tap to turn those off. Any idea what the offending component is?

This may not be related but I have also recently had problems with the battery seemingly draining itself rapdily. In fact, I was stcuk in nose to tail traffic on M25 and I thought I might be overheating, so pull over. 10 mins later, the car wouldn't re-start with a seemingly flat battery. AA checked the alternator and said that it was charging the battery OK (once jump started) , so not sure what happened? Took the car to TVR dealer and they couldn't find a fault either. (Cooling system had a makeover though).

I've probably missed some vital piece of info, but thought I'd post something as a starter for 10.

BTW, it's a 95 Chimaera 4.00HC....

Cheers, Gary

Sounds liek a sticking relay, but don't know which one. Guessing wildly, could be a faulty main power relay causing the ECU etc to stay powered up.
