In a few weeks I'm going to be in the Redhill and East Grinstead area for the day so any hints on good roads not far away would be greatly appreciated.

Yes - A272 out of East Grinstead going towards Tunbridge Wells.. the first mile is very urban and boring but after that it's pretty good.

Once you reach the uphill single file bit - turn round and do it again.

Not many great roads around Redhill .. perhaps the Gatton Bottom road - near the top at M25.. but pretty bumpy.

I can't find the A272 but there is the A264 linking East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells so is that the one?

Trying to find some myself, but one on my usual route home is 'Outwood Road' heading south from the A25 in Bletchingly to Smallfield.

Or plently south of East Grinstead in the Ashdown Forest area off the A22.

Yes - though of that but the road is a bit of a challenge at the top near the Crown (A25 Nutfield Ridge) ..

Used to live in Bletchingley .. so many pubs to choose from biggrin

Maybe its the case you haven't been on them for a while,
but most/all of them are 40 mph limits now.

Got to save the planet somehow ;->

Not forgetting the roads around the forest have plenty of deer in them .. not what you want to run in front of you when traveling quickly..

I was thinking more along the lines of a nice area to potter about, but I guess I better check the limits next time wink
