Stop rubbing it in.
We can't all get there.
I'm not upset to be stuck here, guarding against cheeky chimps sneeking in here while you lot are stuffing your faces and too drunk to stand.
But the rebuild is finished. It's onto the rollers Monday for mapping and then it's finished (for now).

I can't wait to see what the power is.
So what have V8D done?
Top hat liners
Internally balanced
cross-bolted
H404 cam
Valve guides
Emerald ECU
Wideband controller
Engine overheat alarm
ACT induction kit
73mm throttle body
44mm trumpets
Flowing
ACT non-reversal cone mainfolds with no pre-cats
V8 Enhancements Y piece
SC polybush engine mounts
Helix double spring 500ft/lb rated clutch.
And a sprinkle of Rob's magic building.
That just leaves to do
New wheels to allow fitting of
Bigger discs and some trick calipers.
A complete new roof including a two piece panel
New heater box to cure the design faults of the original, then regas the air conditioning

H404 cam
That's an interesting choice. What made you plump for that cam? I seem to remember even Rob not recommending it
What engine size - 5.4 ?
The cam that was in it before was wild too, so it's not such a big jump for me.
When I spoke to Rob he said that he had stopped advising the H404 for a time. He had designed the H404 as a trackday cam. People were unhappy with the road manners.
When I talked it over the choice was either the Stealth and lose power, or the H404. I seldom do town driving as I live in the country and don't use the Griff for work (London). Rob advised the H404, so I took the advice.
Trying to make the H404 drivable with the original 14CUX and dizzy is a hard job.
If you are designing a cam then the limits of the original system are a factor in the design. Once you free yourself by having a modern mapped system then you can alter the profile to exploit the advantages. You can go wilder, and a wild cam can be drivable too.
In addition, it allowed Rob slightly alter the profile. The difference gives a wider torque band, from lower down. But it is still pure H404 top end with all the power.
I haven't driven it yet, but I pick up from V8D 1st thing Monday and drive straight over to Emerald for remapping.
So it's my fault it will now rain or snow all the way to Xmas.
It's odd this criticism of the H404 on grounds of manners... I've had one in my 4.6 since build and it's as good as gold, albeit it has to tickover a tad higher than most. With the current ECU I doubt anyone would guess the cam, and with the 14CUX it was perfectly useable too. Seems a no-brainer to me

Original with an MA chip.
Couldn't wait to get the thing out.
Yours should be fine running with an emerald though
Out of interest, on my car, there was only 12 bhp difference between the H404 and the Stealth.
and where did you get to this weekend Andy????Couldn't wait to get the thing out.
