Just got my Weekend Reading Festival come through!
First time to a festival so any ideas on how to get the best out of it, I live locally so wont be camping.
Who is everyone looking to put in a surprise performance? Im there for Q.O.T.S.A, RATM and Metallica but wouldn't mind checking out some of the smaller bands.

Definitely watching QotSA, RATM, Slipknot and the Cribs, I reckon that despite Metallica being there, the Radio 1 tent will be packed. I hope to be proved wrong though...First time to a festival so any ideas on how to get the best out of it, I live locally so wont be camping.

The D are very good in person, saw them at Brixton Academy years ago and was very impressed. Two blokes, acoustic guitars and more rock than a lot of rock bands ever managed to produce.
Maybe will go see them at some point just to se then.Bands usually start morning'y time. Before midday usually. Probably say on the ticket or the info sheet you got sent?
Id say get there early and soak in the atmosphere, with the Reading festival its not just about the music. And y'never know. You might want to camp the whole weekend next year! Haha, Thats where all the 'fun' happens!
