I was at Chester zoo last week with my 350D, and the following two lenses.

28-75 Tamron F2.8 XR Di
70-300 Sigma APO DG

The reach was great from the sigma but it was way too long at 70mm for a quick snap of the kids when they reacted to something, so i was forever changing lenses, or as the day went on and i got bored i just missed shots.

So should i sell them and buy replacements that will better fit my needs or just add another lens to sit in the middle? im going away in 2 weeks for a week in Devon, so ideally would like a lens i could keep on for 90% of the time.

My initial thoughts where to buy the Canon 18-55 IS and also the 55-250IS (as ive realised my hands are just too shaky for photography really so any help in this department is a big plus, as i love taking pics). But after thinking about it these two lenses dont really improve the situation much compared to what i have already.

So its the 18ish - XX(X) id like to cover, a nice walkaround lens with a bit of reach, upto £300 although if i can save some money all the better.

Cheers

p.s. I really like the look of the 55-250 IS so may swap my sigma 70-300 for this anyway, as the occational trip to Oulton in the past ive noticed most shots i take are at or very close to 200mm anyway, so dont think the 50 loss will effect me too much.

the 18-55 IS and the 55-250 IS lenses are a good addition to the 28-75 Tamron F2.8 XR Di you already have
