100bhp/ltr very impressive, is this in a drivable state, eg not artificially long trumpets or intakes removed etc?

Firstly excellent results. clap

Secondly your graphs curves for both torque and power are almost exactly the same as mine when running 420bhp, up to 5100rpm where yours starts to climb again (rebuild), even the single dip on the curves at 3-3500rpm are the same.....spooky. Bet it drives well......

Jules.

Its it actually a 4.5. I thought it was the engine turned into a 4.7 or am I dreaming that?

Firstly clapbow

Can I ask what your current intake setup is then Harry? Did you manage to get those ported 4.2 intakes working for you then?

I'm fed and watered (wined) and removed the duck grease from my chops now so I can talk.
Got the car back earlier this evening after a drive back through the rain showers yikes. What can I say the manners are still impeccable despite the headline figures, a testament to Pauls mapping of which this has had to have lots of different approaches for his car. The good news is that Paul has learnt even more tricks about mapping the MBE than when he started this tiresome car hehe. It is so smooth and progressive with no vices apart from plenty of oompth and as Charlie noted, too loud an exhaust. The volume must be proportional to the power I say hehe. It smiled and laughed at a 911 and stickered up WRX on the way home too, feck its quick. Pretty nimble too as I had the suspension realigned and softened slightly on the Intrax's to make it more suited for the rough roads I seem to have around here.

Gave up trying to fit bigger throttles on the 4.2 intakes in the end, as standard they are 44mm which isn't to shabby per piston tbh, so we went for cleaning up those and gave them the usual spindle thinning, knife edging the butterfly's and opening the lower sections of bodies up a little too. All in all I say the 4.2 intakes are up to the job big time yes, all achieved whilst maintaining that lovely crisp throttle of the 4.2.

No its not a 4.7 as already asked as previously posted it's a complete rebuild to a high standard at 4525cc as opposed to 4475cc for the 4.5, so Brummine its only at 99.44hp/ltr hehe. It runs slightly more compression that a red rose static but dynamic I don't think there's much in it. It will happily rev to 8krpm and probably more, but soft limit has been set at 7k8rpm and left slightly rich to stop and pistons melting should it want to lean up on me.

To add to the conundrum, peak power on Pauls rollers was at 7k2rpm but I note from Charlies plot it didn't run it past 7k, perhaps there is slightly higher than plotted yikes. Just to wind me up Paul reckons that they have a brand new cam grind to try out for the 4.5, designed in conjunction with Daves Vizzard and Martin and reckoned to be good for 20hp on what I'm running, although it will probably drop some low down torque. Talking of Torque I love the way it has over 360lbs between 3k5rpm and 6k5rpm cloud9.

Harry, I ran it past 7K to about 7400. It starts to drop after 7200. Just the way i've scaled the graph smile

Good I'm glad you revved it out I don't have to repeat all that again then hehe. It spins up a bit smartish doesn't it.
I left my graphs at Pauls desk tonight but from the curves it looks like a peak torque of 396lbs, was hoping for 400 can you remember what it was ears
