Recently bought a 111R and totally loving it. Only one slight problem is that my wife (who also loves the car) has a bad back. On our longer tours she finds it quite uncomfortable. Apart from making her sit on a cushion (which i temporarily nick out of the cat's basket) did Lotus produced any sort of extra padding for the seat which you can buy. I used to have a motorbike and for those you could buy a gel pack/seat to sit on.

Any advice much appreciated.

the newer style Probax seats are orthapaedic and designed for optimal back support - do you already have those? ..there will be a small black label on the outer edge with "Probax" on them

I suffer with back trouble having slipped discs several times, knackered vertebrae etc. I find the seats in my Exige great (non-probax) PITA getting in and out after a long while but generally very good. You can get lumbar support cushions and if you google I'm sure you will find numerous online offers under "lumbar".

Failing that you could upgrade the seats although I suspect this would be a bit pricey.

Dear all,

thanks for all your advice. Unfortunately i have a 2004 model so will try and find a lumber support on Google.

Cheers

babynoir - check the lumbar support isn't inflated on the passenger seat. I drove around for months with my poor other half quietly suffering due to the previous owner inflating it to the max. As soon as I sat in the seat I realised this and deflated it, no problems since.

I have use a "softie" pillow available from garages. This makes it whole thing more comfy. £2.99!

I'm pretty sure that Lotus can actually "probax" modify older seats as one of their retrim options. Might be worth a thought...

They can, I'm pretty sure the details are on the Hangar 111 website. About £350 each in leather plus probax IIRC.

I'm guessing you know about the inflatable lumbar support in the seats?
