Summer holibags are finally here tomorrow at 5pm and time to get the 'ro out for a decent drive.

Myself and Mrs Baz are doing somewhat of a driving holiday for the next 18 days, through western europe (Netherlands, Belgium, France and possibly a quick stint into Luxemburg), then over into the UK and Ireland (doing west coast on way up, all they way to the North Coast, along to John O'Groats and then back down the east coast as well as hitting the Isle of Skye and too many other places to list along the way).

Looking forward to spending 18 days of fuel burning fun over 2500 miles of european roads after having the companies Skoda "firmenwagen" at my disposal for the last 3 months...took the Monaro out on Saturday for it's first drive in that length of time and happened upon an old Countach running Belgian plates and 3 UK reg'd fun-wagons (Aston Martin DB9, Porsche 996 Turbo and an old NSX running bloody HUGE rear rim width). Had a good bit of autobahn fun with them before cutting off and returning home again.

Hopefully acquire some nice pics of the ro in the various places along the way to show when we return (hopefully in one piece)...

Are you going to pop across the water when you are that far North (Orkney)? Give me a bell if you do and I'll buy you a pint!

This time round it's a no, but we are planning to hit the Uphellya (sp) in the next couple of years a short swim away in Lerwick as I lived there for a year or so as a kid and would love to take in the burning of the viking boat as an adult wink

On the euro trip, I must be the only eejit going the other way from Europe to the UK...and after reading 2500 miles I got myself thinking that it must be more for the whole trip we're doing - in total it's just over 4000 MILES biggrin

Hmmm, maybe a big diesel wagon would have made more sense, but then where would the fun be wink

3200 miles in the books now and heading south from aberdeen in the morning to Blackpool (via mum's in Glasgow) to say cheerio, just scared myself by looking at the bank balance (approx 550 litres of go-go juice drunk so far).

Have some nice pics of the monaro at scenic spots, castles and up at John O'Groats a few days ago, I'll get some online when we return home to Germany next week smile
